Some Applications of Memorized Verses For Me

There are instances I knew I could have applied a particular verse in a situation but I vented on the weakness of my flesh instead. For example, someone just spoke harsh words to me and I answered in a harsh manner and the other person end up to become even harsher, the verse Proverbs 15:1 and James 1:19 clings my mind but it was too late ( Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs up anger; James 1:19 Be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger). But what is the difference now? I am convicted and not swayed by the deceitfulness of sin. Then I would renew my mind (Romans 12:2 - "Be transformed by the renewal of your mind..") and resolve to have the peace with the person. I noticed as well that usually I would benefit on the verses long after I memorized them, something like when it goes to my veins and bloodstreams that's the time I couldn't help but just use them. I had never regretted all vers...

Memorization Method and Schedule for John

How I started memorizing verses I've started on memorization isolated verses in young age like John 3:16 but I couldn't even recall others aside from John 3:16 and "Jesus is the Way the Truth and The Life..." and could not even remember the reference then (now its engraved in my permanent memory John 14:6) . Then I focused on reviewing and adding new ones starting April 2015. Right then I noticed there is a huge progress on how much I could quote, I could recall more than 50 in just two months I'm surprised how putting our focus on something can accomplish so much. How I started memorizing chapters My very first entire chapter that I committed to memory is Psalms 23, oh I still love to recite this almost every day. It took me two weeks then. Then I added others like Psalms 91, then Romans 8 and a few more Psalms. Its amazing that after a few months, a chapter length that takes me two weeks to memorize I could do in one sit...

Introduction - My Dream of a Lifetime and Eternity

A desire has been planted in my heart to hide God's word in my heart, started in a few isolated verses then entire chapters then now on books. I thought If I would dream, I'll dream a BIG dream, something I will do for my entire lifetime and bear fruit for eternity. I dream to be a walking bible, to memorize the entire ESV bible, some NKJV for some OT songs I learned from our church. I know that if we don't put a deadline in a goal, it is very hard to attain. Therefore I will focus on the New Testament memorization in Five Years then come back and see at what phase I can feasibly complete Old Testament. I am also open to the possibility that I may not complete the whole bible, but at least the New testament I would really pray hard to achieve this even it takes me 10 years. I created this blog to keep myself accountable and at the same time encourage others who are on the same boat, or as a pay forward for many blogs tha...
