Memorization Schedule to be Extended & Testimony of God's Providence

It has been a long time since I updated my blog. I am doing all I could to hold on to what I already memorized, honestly some had slipped. When my work was changed from full-time to part time seven months ago, my memorization improved so much. It required me more time as I had more things to review but I was so peaceful and makes it easier for me to learn new information. Indeed verses that I memorized helped me so much in times of difficulty. The circumstances have changed recently, my husband may lost his job (though he found a better job after, thanks to God), this circumstance pushed me to find a full time job again. I still have my part time but it cannot sustain all our expenses in Singapore if my husband will be out of job nor pay-off the investments we have started paying. I thought it would be nearly impossible for me to have another job on the same field I am doing, by the way I am an ERP consultant - MS Dynamics AX to be exact. It is because for the past year that I fell

Understanding the Gospel

It was fresh in my mind when I posted that something had improved my memorization. Being active, taking a photocopy of the pages I'm memorizing and constant practice. These are all by the flesh but it does work. Lately my focus on my study is to understand the Gospel. To find answers to the questions I had when I was younger, like why did Jesus prayed with blood on the night before he was crucified if He knew from the beginning that all this will going to happen. Also when he was on the cross why did He say "Father, why have you forsaken me". Some sermons by Paul Washer, reading Psalms, bible study, earnest prayer to the Lord to help me understand...these things leads me to somehow grasp a little, if its the "tip of the ice berg" so to say. To understand that it is not the beating that our Lord feared, it was not the nails or the torture, it was the "Cup of Wrath" that God had given to him to drink on that cross, its the full measure of just punishme

I DECLARE ALL OUT WAR AGAINST SIN

April 8, 2016 I'm exceedingly glad to update I had finished John’s Gospel, not meaning it is already in my permanent memory, maybe it takes 6 months to a year to do so. I embarked on 1 John and it is not a coincidence that when we meet our elder, he discussed the exact chapters (1 John 1-3), those things I badly need to live upon. Firstly I want to say the Spirit had many times lead us as a church on similar verses and we were surprised when we meet we would brought up the same Scripture portions and would like to study about it. It’s amazing, but it is a supernatural blessedness which is normal in our small church. Our elder show us a YouTube video by Paul Washer titled “Examine Yourself”. I thank God for chastising me through 1 John, He broke me to my knees that I would be sure I had no other hope but Him. This scripture helped me to understand what sin is and how I should declare all-out war against it. 1 John 3:3-6 says “Everyone who hopes in Him purify himself for He

3 Things that Improved my Memorization

I've just noticed a remarkable improvement in the number of verses I could memorize in one sitting now, that's maximum of 30 within 45 minutes. A month ago 5-10 verses are quite my maximum effort but now it progressed that I could do 15-30 verses in about 30 to 45 minutes. Here are the things I observed: One change I've done is I tried to be more active . I remember last week, when we play badminton in the evening, I felt so energetic and after I rested an hour I able to memorize 20 verses, wow! then after that it improved even more. Another change that I did is I photocopy the page from my bible what I am memorizing and bring the page wherever I go. In the past I bring my bible but many times my bible almost fell in the watery park and I felt its not so safe to bring it just anywhere. Now the rationale of this is that I met a memorizer from a site, his name is Trevor , who said that he is a visual learner and it helps him to memorize base on the location of the page f

Memorization Schedule for March 2016

I realized that the key to make this memorization goal work is to be organized. I find that this daily schedule below helps me a lot. Well it looks difficult to understand at first glance but well, this is a personal chart that works for me, I'm sure every individual will have something that would work for them specifically. I usually prepare this on the last week of the month for the next month schedule. Columns: Bible Reading I had a separate document for Bible reading which tells me what to read for the day but sometimes I would forgot to do it. I notice that since I never forgot to do my memorization, I put a column here just to put a check if I have done reading for the day. Review and R The first 'Review' column is for the books or entire chapters that I already committed to memory earlier and they may be in weekly, bi-weekly, or bi-monthly or monthly review schedule. I would then rate my review from 1-5 (column R) just like www.memverse.com grading .  If I
